Christian Prayer for My Children
Lord, I place my children in your loving hands. Protect them in body, mind, and spirit. Give them health, wisdom, faith, and good companions.
Guide their decisions, strengthen them in temptation, and help them grow in kindness, honesty, and love.
Grant me the patience and wisdom to accompany them faithfully and to teach them by my own example. May they always know that they are loved by you. Amen.
Prayer and responsible parenting
Asking for protection does not mean trying to control every decision your children make. A parent's or caregiver's prayer should be joined to attentive listening, affection, safe boundaries, and respect for each child's age and growing freedom.
After praying, consider a specific need involving health, friendships, school, faith, or emotional well-being. Speak without rushing to judge, and pay attention to signs of isolation, violence, or distress. Seek medical, psychological, educational, or pastoral support when appropriate. Trusting God and responsibly using available help belong together.
You can return to this prayer at the beginning of the school year, before a journey, during illness, or whenever family communication becomes difficult.
