This prayer to the Good Shepherd asks Jesus to care for us, protect us, feed us, and give us strength for life. We are his flock, called to listen attentively for his guidance.
Prayer to the Good Shepherd
My Lord, my Good Shepherd, Son of the Father, source of light and strength of faith, you awaken our sleeping hope. You send us your Mother to warm our cold hearts and lovingly seek those troubled by the anxieties of the world.
Hear us, Lord. Listen to your brothers and sisters gathered here. We want to follow you wherever you lead our steps.
Our hearts want to belong to you forever.
Our souls thirst for your light and long to see you smile beside your Mother.
Send us your angels and saints; comfort us through their heavenly presence.
Give us the deep consolation of knowing that your mercy receives our repentance for the many errors we have made.
Do not let us lower our guard against the evil one and temptation.
Make us strong, Lord, in our surrender to you, our God.
Make us humble and receptive so that we may let your Holy Spirit work within us and allow you to care for our lives.
Keep us as trusting lambs of your flock, Lord. Embrace us in your will. Guide us yourself, and may your Mother protect us.
Do not leave us, Lord. Forgive our errors, sins, and lack of faith.
