Prayer to Saint Michael for the Home
Glorious Saint Michael the Archangel, prince of the heavenly hosts, come to our aid and defend us.
We ask you to watch over this home and intercede that every evil influence may be driven away. Help us preserve peace in every room and charity in every conversation.
With the strength God has given you, defend us from temptation and everything that would bind us to sin. Be our guardian in moments of fear and uncertainty.
Pray for every member of this family. Help us remain beneath God's protection and lead us always toward Jesus Christ. Amen.
When to Pray
This prayer may be offered at the beginning of the day, before sleep, during a period of spiritual difficulty, or when a family asks God to bless a new home. It may also accompany the traditional Prayer to Saint Michael written in the nineteenth century:
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
