Prayer to Saint Peter the Apostle

Simon Peter was a fisherman called by Jesus to become one of the Twelve Apostles. The Gospels show both his courage and his weakness: he confessed Jesus as the Christ, promised loyalty, denied the Lord during the Passion, and later received forgiveness and a renewed mission. His life offers hope to anyone who has failed and wants to begin again.

Christians ask Saint Peter to intercede for steadfast faith, humility, courage, and unity in the Church. The prayer is directed ultimately to God; Peter's example leads us back to Jesus.

Prayer

Saint Peter, apostle of Jesus and witness to his mercy, pray for me. You knew enthusiasm and fear, confidence and failure, yet Christ called you again and entrusted you with service.

Ask the Lord to strengthen my faith when I am confused and to give me courage when following the Gospel is difficult. Help me admit my mistakes without despair, seek forgiveness sincerely, and repair the harm I have caused.

Teach me to love Christ more than my reputation or comfort. May my words and decisions reflect truth, charity, and fidelity. Pray for the Church, its pastors, and all Christians, that we may serve with humility rather than seek power for ourselves.
