Meaning of Psalm 4

Answer me when I call, O God of my justice. In distress you gave me room; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
How long will you love what is empty and seek falsehood? Know that the Lord sets apart the faithful for himself; the Lord hears when I call.
Tremble and do not sin. Reflect in silence and trust in the Lord. Offer the sacrifice of righteousness and put your confidence in him.
Lord, let the light of your face shine upon us. You have placed more joy in my heart than when grain and new wine abound.
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
