Jesus, I Come to Pray for My Husband
Jesus, I come to pray for my husband.
He is the man I chose to walk beside
until the end of life,
to love, build a family,
share joy, find happiness, and give you glory.
I ask you to make him a good father
so that our children may find in him an example to follow.
Help him be a good man:
sincere, honorable, responsible, and hardworking,
a witness of Christian life and love for you.
Bless him, Lord.
Bless his journey and his work.
May his guardian angel accompany him
wherever he may be.
Give him good friends and help him
make wise decisions.
Protect him from every evil.
Deliver him from harmful company,
from dangers to body and soul,
from vice and the snares of the devil.
Grant me the grace to love him
in the way he needs to be loved.
Through the way I treat him,
through my words, gestures, and attitudes,
may he experience your love and tenderness,
your goodness and closeness.
Give me the prudence I need
to know when to speak and when to remain silent,
when to intervene and when to let something pass,
when to ask and when to yield,
how to respect him and also respect myself.
Help me forgive
as you forgive me.
May I show him the same patience
and spirit of service that you show me.
I offer you every sacrifice this may require
as an offering pleasing to you,
for his eternal salvation,
for the salvation of our children, and for my own.
May the grace of marriage
that we received on our wedding day
remain alive and strong,
like a burning flame,
in every present moment.
May you reign in our home:
your love, your commandments, and your way,
not our whims or passions.
Grant us the grace to remain united,
to admire and love one another until death,
and together with our children, to reach heaven.
Thank you, Lord, for my husband.
I entrust him to your Sacred Heart,
to your Blessed Mother, and to Saint Joseph.
Watch over him closely. He is your son, Lord,
and he is the father of my children.
