What the Divine Praises are
“Blessed be God” belongs to the Divine Praises, a litany of reparation and worship often prayed after Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Each invocation proclaims a central element of faith: God's name, the identity of Jesus Christ, the Eucharist, the Holy Spirit, and the communion of saints.
The prayer is not limited to communal worship. It may also be used privately as thanksgiving, especially after Mass or Eucharistic adoration. Speak each line without rushing and allow the repetition to focus your attention on God.
