Lord, our Father, I offer this prayer before sleep so that you may remain at my side. With your company I feel safe as I fall asleep, trusting that I will awaken in your care.
Do not let darkness darken my soul. Keep my heart and thoughts clean and free from evil.
I know you are beside me every day of my life. I know you do not leave me alone at night, and that I can count on Jesus Christ and the angels for protection.
I do not always live as I should, but every night I place my body before you and leave my life in your hands. Each morning I hope to thank you for preserving me and giving me new hope.
Heavenly Father, I love the silence of the night, when I can rest in your company and awaken within me the desire for salvation. I close my eyes and enjoy your holy presence, the presence that renews my strength.
