Psalm 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; before whom should I tremble?
When evildoers advance against me to devour me, they, my enemies and foes, stumble and fall.
Though an army surrounds me, my heart will not fear. Though war rises against me, even then I will remain confident.
One thing I ask of the Lord, and this alone I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the Lord's beauty and seek him in his sanctuary.
For in the day of trouble he will shelter me in his dwelling. He will hide me within his tent and lift me high upon a rock.
Now my head rises above the enemies surrounding me. With shouts of joy I will offer sacrifice in his tent; I will sing and make music to the Lord.
Hear my voice, Lord, when I call. Be merciful and answer me.
My heart hears you say, "Seek my face." Your face, Lord, I seek.
Do not hide your face from me or turn your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Do not reject or abandon me, O God my Savior. Even if my father and mother abandoned me, the Lord would receive me.
Teach me your way, Lord, and lead me along a level path.
Do not surrender me to the will of my enemies, for false witnesses rise against me and breathe out threats.
I remain confident that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord. Be strong, take courage, and wait for the Lord.
May Psalm 27 help you remain close to the Almighty and face each difficulty with faith.
