Come, Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit,
send forth your light from heaven.
Loving Father of the poor,
giver of splendid gifts,
light that penetrates every soul,
source of our greatest consolation.
Come, sweet guest of the soul,
rest in our labor,
relief in difficult work,
gentle breeze in the heat,
joy that dries our tears
and comforts us in sorrow.
Enter the depths of our hearts,
divine light, and enrich us.
See how empty we are
when you are absent within us;
see the power of sin
when you do not send your breath.
Water what is dry,
heal the wounded heart,
wash away every stain,
warm what has grown cold,
bend what has become rigid,
and guide those who have lost the path.
Bestow your seven gifts
according to the faith of your servants.
Through your goodness and grace,
give merit to our efforts,
bring salvation to those who seek it,
and grant us everlasting joy.
Amen.
