Family Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary
Most Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of the Redeemer and our Mother, we pray for our family. Help us become a united and loving home where each of us can find peace, joy, and hope.
We pray for parents, for the love and understanding they share and for the example of generous service they give. May they always find in you the strength and wisdom they need for their mission as guides and protectors of the family.
We also pray for our children, for their growth and formation, their health, and their future. May they always find in you a loving and protective Mother, and may your example of virtue and holiness guide them.
Finally, we pray for each member of our family, for our needs and worries, our joys and sorrows. May we always find consolation and support in you and, following your example, become instruments of God's love and peace in the world.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Savior, who lives and reigns with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin for Our Family
Most Holy Virgin Mary,
chaste spouse of Joseph,
tender Mother of Jesus,
perfect model for wives and mothers,
I come to you full of respect and confidence.
With deep devotion I kneel at your feet
and ask for your help.
See, O powerful Queen,
my needs and those of my family.
Mercifully hear the ardent desires of my heart.
I entrust them to your own Heart,
so gentle and compassionate,
and I hope to obtain from Jesus,
your divine Son,
through your intercession,
the grace to fulfill faithfully
my duties as a wife and mother.
The Prayer Continues
Obtain for me a holy reverence for God,
love for honest work,
the desire to pray and perform good works,
gentleness, patience, prudence,
and all the virtues Saint Paul recommends to Christian women,
which bring happiness and honor to families.
Teach me to honor my husband
as you honored Saint Joseph
and as the Church honors Christ, her divine Bridegroom.
May my husband find in me a faithful wife,
and may the holy union we entered on earth
continue eternally in heaven.
Protect my husband in all his endeavors;
I ask for his health and life even before my own.
I also entrust my beloved children to your motherly Heart.
Be a Mother to them and form their hearts in devotion.
May they never leave the path of virtue,
and may they find joy in serving God.
After our death, may they remember us, their loving parents,
pray to God for our eternal rest,
and honor our memory through virtuous lives.
Tender Mother,
may they be devout and charitable,
in a word, good Christians.
Since they too must one day die,
may lives filled with good works
be crowned by holy deaths,
so that we may have the joy, O Mary,
of meeting together in glory,
contemplating you, giving you thanks,
and singing your praises and those of your Son,
who with the Father and the Holy Spirit
