Prayer to Christ, Son of God
Lord Jesus Christ, our magnificent and eternal High Priest: through your Death and Resurrection, we recognize you as the sacrificial Lamb and mediator between the Father and us.
You call us to share in your Death and Resurrection through the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, and to unite ourselves to the offering of your sacrifice through participation in your priesthood in the Eucharist.
In this way we belong to your kingdom on earth and become your holy people.
Jesus Christ, our High Priest, grant us your Spirit of Love and Life, uniting us to you, Priest and Victim, so that the plan of salvation for all peoples may be established within us.
Prayer to Christ the High Priest: Keep Us in Your Heart
Son of God, our High Priest, grant us your Spirit of Wisdom and unity. Gather us into your Mystical Body, the Church, so that we may be your witnesses in the world.
Christ, our High Priest, may your Cross heal our wounds, your Resurrection renew us, your Holy Spirit sanctify us, your kingship glorify us, and your priesthood redeem us. May we be united with you as you are united with the Father in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, gather us all into your Person: Victim, Priest, and King, through the saving banquet of the Eucharist that you and we offer at the altar of sacrifice, now and throughout every day of our pilgrimage in this world.
When you call us to your heavenly kingdom, may we share with all the saints in your glory, love, and life, united with the Father and the Holy Spirit for all eternity.
Amen.
Prayer to Jesus Christ
O Lord, you have given us this sacred banquet in which we receive Christ, the memory of his Passion is renewed, the soul is filled with grace, and the pledge of future glory is given to us. You have given us bread from heaven containing every delight.
Let us pray: O God, our Father, you appointed Jesus Christ as High Priest for your glory and our salvation.
Grant that the people redeemed by his Blood may share in the power of his Cross and Resurrection through the celebration of his memorial in the Eucharist. For he lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
O Jesus, you left us the living memorial of your Passion hidden beneath the veils of this sacrament. Grant, we pray, that we may so venerate these sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood that we may always enjoy the fruits of your redemption.
You who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.
