Most holy Virgin Mary, at the Visitation to your cousin Saint Elizabeth, you carried the Word made flesh within you. You show us your generous self-giving as Mother of humanity by serving Elizabeth during her pregnancy until the birth of Saint John.
Elizabeth felt her child leap for joy when you approached her home and, inspired by the Holy Spirit, cried out: "Why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" You who always brought joy and have been a model of service to all your children in every time and place.
Mother, share with us your desire to make God happy at every moment by serving our brothers and sisters with joy and proclaiming the greatness of the Lord through our actions. Amen. Our Lady of the Visitation, pray for us.
