Who Is Our Lady of Guadalupe?
Catholic tradition recounts that the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill in 1531, leaving her image miraculously impressed on his tilma. Since then, she has been a source of consolation for the poor and a loving Mother to the faithful. She is also known as the "Morena of Tepeyac" and is celebrated on December 12.

O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of the true God and Mother of the Church,
you who from this place show your mercy and compassion
to all who seek your protection,
hear the prayer we address to you with the trust of your children
and present it to your Son Jesus, our only Redeemer.
Mother of mercy, teacher of hidden and silent sacrifice,
to you we consecrate our whole being and all our love.
We consecrate to you our lives, our work,
our joys, our illnesses, and our sorrows.
Grant peace, justice, and prosperity to our peoples.
We place everything under your care, our Lady and Mother.
